The Turn- Film
Written, Directed, Produced, Designed, & Edited by Veronica Garcia
In an endless, ritualistic card game, Sol—embodiment of the sun—faces her own reflection through a deck of herself. As the illusion fractures, she is forced to confront the boundaries between self and other, silence and surrender, illusion and truth.
The Turn is a surreal, symbolic short film unfolding in three looping sequences. Set within a ritual room, Sol engages in a silent card game with Luna, her moonlit counterpart. As each card reveals only variations of herself, Sol spirals into confusion, resistance, and eventually surrender. To me, this film is about facing the illusions we build around identity, control, and purpose. It reflects how striving for meaning can become its own trap. Sol’s journey isn’t about winning, but allowing oneself to let go.

Petals in the Shadows
Petals in the Shadows is inspired by my short story, Color Imprints, about Seline, a woman in a gray cityscape, blind to the vibrant colors beneath the surface. The set reflects the journey of realizing we hold the power to create the beauty and happiness we seek. Influenced by German Expressionism and surrealism, it blurs the line between external and internal worlds.

“Terror” Stop-Motion Puppet
I conceptualized and designed the character "Terror," followed by the creation of a stop-motion puppet.
The process involved careful planning and design work to bring the character to life. The animation was created manually, with each second of footage requiring approximately an hour of meticulous work. The GIF below offers a glimpse into the character's movement and personality within the animation.
