Petals in the Shadows
My box, Petals in the Shadows, is inspired by the short story I wrote called Color Imprints, which follows the protagonist, Seline, through her life in the city.
Color Imprints explores the transformative power of perception, showing how the world’s vibrancy is shaped by what we choose to see and create. Seline lives in a gray, lifeless city, burdened by her own disillusionment. She is blind to the color and beauty that exists around her until a surreal journey forces her to confront the role she plays in shaping her reality.
The story is about the imprints we leave on the world and each other—how fleeting moments of connection, creativity, and self-discovery can reveal the hidden hues in even the dullest landscapes. Seline’s journey reminds us that we are the creators of the color in our lives, even when it feels out of reach.
